Yakub’s hanging will not end with his funerals says, the underworld don Tiger Memon who planned and executed 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts which took the lives more than 257 people. Hours before his brother Yakub’s execution, Tiger called his mother, Hanifa Memon on Memon residence landline number.

He got the nickname ‘Tiger’ after helping a petty drugs and weapons smuggler to evade the grips of the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police by driving his car recklessly over 100 km/h on one way roads.

Tiger then says: “Zulm ki inteha ho gayi hai. Zaya nahi jayega,” (This is the height of injustice, this will not go waste.) And repeats it one more time: “Yeh sab zaya nahi jayega,”

Yakub’s mother starts crying more on the phone now.

So Tiger promises: “Tum ro mat ammi iska inko izafa dena hoga.”

Hanfia says something which is inaudible-

Tiger: “main unko chukwaonga” (I will make them pay)

For an underworld don backed up by the billionaire commander of D-Company , Dawood Ibrahim is not a difficult thing to plan and execute another boom blast In India. Our security is flawless but not the best in the world. Tiger’s threat cannot be considered as a silly statement but it must be dealt with utmost importance as it may challenge the national security in any of the upcoming days of his choice.

Supreme Court judge Justice Dipak Misra, part of a three-member panel that had rejected 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict Yakub Memon’s mercy plea, has received a threat letter, police said on Friday.

Misra received the letter at his New Delhi residence after which he lodged a complaint at the Tughlaq Road police station. Memon was hanged on July 30 after the apex court bench comprising Justice Dipak Misra, Justice Prafulla C. Pant and Justice Amitava Roy Post-midnight rejected Memon’s plea seeking 14 days’ time before the execution of his death sentence.

“We have registered a case on the basis of the judge’s complaint. We are scrutinizing the letter to verify its authenticity. We are also finding out if its a prank played by someone or is circulated by the associates of Memon,” police sources told IANS.

Senior police officials could not be contacted for a comment despite repeated attempts and some of them denied commenting saying “it is a very sensitive matter and is under probe”.

Security has been beefed up at the residence of Supreme Court Justice Dipak Misra after he received an anonymous threatening letter. As per reports, the threat letter said, “irrespective of the protection you may avail, we will eliminate you.”

Justice Misra was part of the three-judge Supreme Court bench which had dismissed the mercy plea and delivered the final order on 1993 Mumbai blasts convict Yakub Memon. Yakub was hanged at the Nagpur Central jail on July 30.

In an unprecedented move, the three-judge bench of the apex court presided over a fresh hearing of the case throughout the intervening night of July 29 and 30 before dismissing the final appeal for mercy by Yakub, the only person to be sentenced to death for the series of bombings in Mumbai.

Yakub was convicted for being the “driving spirit” behind the blasts that killed at least 257 people at separate landmarks in the financial capital, including the Bombay Stock Exchange and two crowded markets.
